All the 10 guestrooms at Penbontbren have been tastefully converted from the original farm buildings to an award-winning standard presented by Country landowners Association. The complete farm-to-hotel conversion was also subject to an award for its attention to detail with customers' comfort in mind. All rooms are "en-suite" and combine those little extras that make any stay more comfortable, including a welcome sherry and fresh fruit awaiting guests on arrival.

You could be staying in one of the many
character filled rooms at Penbontbren…

The Stable
This room formed part of the farm stable, the home of the large shire horses. Their hay mangers were ranged along the wall where the bed head is now to be found. The stable lad slept in the room above.

The Thrashing Barn
This room formed part of the large thrashing barn. It was originally open to the ceiling and had a fine slate flagged floor. In olden times the cereals were actually threshed with wooden flails until the seed came out.

The Mill
Part of this room was the original farm mill, and it housed the machinery for grinding the grain. The mill was powered by an overshot water wheel, which was donated to Cardigan Agricultural Museum. The museum went bust and the overshot wheel has never been traced since. It is believed that it is now on show in Aberystwyth. This room had a fine slate flagged floor for ease of cleaning. These two rooms were entered under a beautiful stone arch which can now be seen between the reception area and the Bar.

The Granary
This room is situated immediately above the old milling room and would have witnessed the sounds of the old water driven machinery. Since it had to support large quantities of grain as a granary, it had a massive beamed floor.
