Disabled Holidays in Wales

Penbontbren has two rooms especially designed to be friendly for our guests in wheelchairs. You may park directly outside the doors to these rooms, and each room is accessed on the flat with no stairs or slope to hinder your movement. The doors are extra wide to be comfortable for our disabled guests.

Each room has a flexible arrangement of beds and can house either a king-size bed or twin beds, as you choose. The beds are raised up on “elephant blocks” to make then more accessible. There is enough space by the side of the bed for you to transfer happily from wheelchair to the bed. The view from the window is of a copse of mature trees, coffee/tea making equipment is provided in the room along with a welcome sherry on arrival.

Each of our disabled friendly rooms has an ensuite roll-in shower room. The toilets have raised seats and grab rails for easy access.

At the reception, the counter is lower than normal so that it is easier to reach from a sitting position. There is a slope into the dining room and staff to wait on you. The hotel is disabled /wheelchair friendly throughout. If warned in advance our chef is happy to provide delicious food to suit all dietary requirements. There is an extensive menu of meat dishes and vegetarian options to choose from.
