Penbontbren Hotel

Penbontbren Hotel History

The original Penbontbren farm was built in approx 1860 and maintained it's sheep & cattle farming until 1985. The farm-to-hotel conversion took place in 1985 and took approximately 3 years to create the splendid rural hotel that Penbontbren is today.

The whole conversion gave birth to a beautiful hotel with 10 guest rooms. Boasting stonewalls, wooden beams and fireplaces the hotel itself is beaming with traditional rural character. The conversion was so highly regarded that, Country Landowners Association presented an award to the hotel for best farm building conversion in Wales & West of England.

Penbontbren Hotel History

At the hotel there is a 'countryside museum', where a small collection of restored items exist from the rural past of the farm. These include old tools, ploughs, the original farm tractor and many more. All our guests are welcome to browse in the museum and let their imaginations visualise what the farm used to look like years ago!
