Llandysul

Upstream from Cardigan on the Teifi lays the small quaint town of Llandysul in Ceredigion. The main street is lined with small interesting shops, many of which will take you back to the bygone years of rural Wales.

The heart of Llandysul is the river, where the foaming rapids attract many canoeists throughout the year. Llandysul Paddlers is the ideal place to visit if you're a beginner or an enthusiastic canoeist. This area is also very popular with anglers.

The town of Llandysul lies in the heartland of the Welsh woollen mill country, with Rock Mills Woollen and Water Mill in nearby Capel Dewi. Visit one of the last traditional mills where the whole process from fleece to fabric may be viewed. The machinery is still powered by a water wheel, which also drives a small alternator providing the lighting. The mill produces bedspreads, blankets, rugs, tablemats and fabrics from pure new wool. Products are on sale in the Mill Shop.

Farmyard Nurseries is also a popular stop for many visitors and locals, offering a wide selection of plants and trees for your garden. It's a delightful place to visit for a stroll around, even if you do not want to buy anything.
